17-038 Helicopter unit deploying in support of Operation Inherent Resolve
 

Kansas National Guard soldiers of Company G, 1st Battalion, 111th Aviation will be honored during a deployment ceremony Friday, April 21 at the Armed Forces Reserve Center, 7105 SE Forbes Ave., Topeka.

The doors will open at 10 a.m. and the ceremony will begin at 11 a.m.  The public is welcome to attend.

The Topeka-based helicopter unit is deploying in support of Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve, the U.S. military intervention against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. Their primary mission will be aeromedical evacuation.

Capt. Andrew Webster, company commander, said his soldiers are dedicated to their mission.

“We have come together as a unified team during this short notice mobilization,” said Webster, “and, as a team, we look forward to pursuing our mission of saving lives wherever our leadership sends us.”
