Letter From Maj. Gen. Lee Tafanelli, Kansas adjutant General
The story in today’s Capital-Journal is certainly disturbing. We look forward to providing a more complete accounting of the facts. We are in the process of obtaining approval to release information that will provide a more complete and accurate account.
I reiterate we will not litigate personnel matters in public forums. This would not be fair to our personnel, both past and present. We will, however, strive to provide a more complete accounting of the facts to reinforce that we take these types of issues seriously and address inappropriate actions where necessary and when appropriate.
In the meantime, we ask for your continued support and consideration. The Kansas National Guard remains steadfast in our dedication to serving our state and nation. We have tasks ahead that require our full focus and attention. We have men and women currently preparing to deploy oversees and more that will soon follow. Thousands of airmen and soldiers stand ready to support and protect our communities, state and nation
As Kansas National Guard members, we strive daily to serve in a professional and ethical manner in order to accomplish our mission both at home and abroad.
